Would you like to provide some more information about yourself - eg current projects you are working on, background, what you are looking for and so on
I'm currently interested in a position in the oil and gas industry where I can use some of my skills - perhaps for seismic data processing and reservoir modelling, modelling flow, creating models or visualisation.

I have worked in astronomy research for the past 13 years, I have a BSc in Physics from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

I currently hold a Schrodinger Fellowship in Computational Astrophysics at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. In addition to my research I am the supervisor of a PhD project using ray-tracing methods to simulate the radiation from high mass stars.

Research Interests and Experience:
Computational Physics/Astrophysics,
Fluid Dynamics/Magneto-hydrodynamics,
Numerical Simulations,
Adaptive Mesh Refinement,
Raytracing/Visualisation,
Programming in C, C++, FORTRAN, PHP
Extensive experience of software development, academic, commercial and open-source.
Do you have a technical / engineering background?
Yes
Is the oil and gas industry adopting new technology fast enough?
it adopts new technology fast enough
What technology can do the most to increase production do you think?
better reservoir models, better communication, better co-ordination of resources
Is our industry's current environmental and safety performance good enough?
it is adequate
